First post; Great Divide Fresh Hop Pale Ale

Hello,

This first post is a bit overdue! I'm a beer enthusiast and a beginner homebrewer and I'm starting this blog with my fellow beer-lover and roommate Nathan. The theme of this blog is beer and food pairings, as well as general beer reviews and recipes.

I'd like to take this first post to praise a great beer I had in December, Great Divide Fresh Hop Pale Ale. Fresh hopped beers are brewed with hops that have been very recently harvested, which imparts a luscious and vibrant hop flavor. Great Divide in Colorado brews their Fresh Hop Pale Ale with northwestern US hops within 24 hours of harvest. The beer is absolutely delicious and honestly what I consider to be heaven for a hophead like myself.

This beer is well enjoyed alone. I also like hoppy ales with pizzas and strong cheeses. I can't wait to get my hands on another bottle of this great beer and to sample more fresh hopped beers.

ShakenBarley (Chad)

P.S.

Check out this NY Times article about brewing with fresh hops. Rest assured next Fall I am going to get my hands as much and many fresh hopped beers as possible!
